Honoring K9 Piper’s legacy, this program provides working dogs nationwide with essential safety gear to protect them during duty, including heat alarms and trauma kits.
Why Your Support Matters
K9 Piper lived every day to the fullest. Even with a foot of snow on the runway, he showed up, tongue out and ready for anything. His main function was to increase safety by responding to reports of wildlife and conducting regular patrols. Snowy owls and foxes never stood a chance on the runway.
In order to keep the runways safe, K9 Piper had the essential kit to help him do his job. Without these items he could not complete his mission and keep the runways clear. This is true for all working K9s - without proper gear they cannot complete their tasks. We created the K9 Piper Kit Program for this very reason. All money raised will buy items like heat alarms, non-ballistic vests, and eye protection. Something that K9 Piper was known for. Provide A GPS Tracker
Sometimes K9s become separated from their handlers while searing or tracking lost children or dementia patients. By providing a GPS tracker (primarily for SAR K9s), we can ensure that each K9 returns home.
Provide A Vest
Some K9s require a non-ballistic vest to help them be more effective at their job. Whether it's a SAR K9, Avalanche Rescue K9, or a K9 deployed overseas that helps search for explosives - these vests allow them to go above and beyond their daily duties.
Protect A K9 Against Heat
Each year, we lose K9s due to heat exhaustion from an engine failure in their vehicle. We aim to change this. By providing a heat alarm, we can ensure that a K9 NEVER overheats. This system (manufactured by Ace K9) will sound the sirens and horn when a vehicle reaches an unbearable temperature, due to Summer temps or engine failure. If there is no response, the windows will drop and the doors will pop open, allowing the K9 to exit - keeping him ALIVE and well.
