This campaign will fund the construction of dynamic obstacle courses designed for working dogs, serving law enforcement, military, and first responders.

The courses will include agility ramps, tunnels, jumps, and other specialized equipment to help K9s stay fit and sharpen their field skills, ultimately ensuring they're prepared for the challenges they face every day.

Since 2016, Spike’s K9 Fund has completed 11 Construction for K9’s projects, including customized obstacle courses and new dog houses designed to meet the training needs of working dogs.

The first courses were built for the Chesapeake Police Department in Virginia, completed in August 2016, and the Cincinnati Police Department in Ohio, completed in October 2016.

Today, we’re working toward our next goal:
raising $250,000 to continue building these vital training courses and giving K9s the environments they deserve.

WORKING K9S GIVE THEIR EVERYTHING ON THE JOB. BUT MANY TEAMS DON’T HAVE ACCESS TO SAFE, CONTROLLED TRAINING GROUNDS.

CONSTRUCTION FOR K9’S STEPS IN, BUILDING CUSTOM COURSES TO
KEEP WORKING DOGS STRONG AND PROTECTED.

The Construction for K9s Campaign builds state-of-the-art obstacle courses across the United States to help active-duty working dogs stay mission-ready. These courses feature agility ramps, tunnels, scaling walls, jumps, and scent-focused zones – all designed to sharpen the physical and mental skills K9s rely on in the field.

Each course is made available to departments and certified handlers for field-readiness sessions, giving both K9s and handlers the tools they need to train safely and effectively in real-world conditions.

How to Apply for a K9 Obstacle Course:

  1. 📨 Email your request to: support@spikesk9fund.org
Include details about your department and request for a custom K9 obstacle course.

  2. 📅 Confirm your date
Our team will coordinate with you to lock in scheduling.

  3. 📝 Submit departmental approval
Once confirmed, a letterhead from your department with formal approval is required.

Spike’s team then works to coordinate volunteers, sponsors, and logistics for the project. When construction is complete, we often help organize a post-build gathering or fundraiser to bring together the handlers, volunteers, and community members who made it possible.

The result? A
safer, smarter, stronger K9 team – trained on the course their mission demands.

Our four-legged heroes work tirelessly alongside first responders, law enforcement, and military teams – risking their lives to protect and serve. Now, it's our turn to give back.

With your support, we'll create a dynamic training environment with agility ramps, tunnels, jumps, and other specialized equipment designed to challenge and strengthen K9s – whether tracking a scent, performing search-and-rescue, or apprehending suspects.
